ViXEN
Software Solutions Limited, formerly part of AremisSoft
plc, is a leading supplier of software solutions and
services for the building and maintenance industries,
and specifically for electrical and maintenance contractors.
Their ViXEN plus package enables contracting companies
to automate their contract and accounting systems, with
a flexible range of modules including job costing, estimating,
purchase orders, invoicing, payroll and stock control.
In January 2002, Hudson Electrical, came to AremisSoft
/ ViXEN Software needing to upgrade their ViXEN package.
They'd just won a large contract with the MOD, which
would involve service, maintenance and rapid response
elements. Their existing package only focused on the
contracting side of their business, so they needed to
add extra functionality to meet the demands of the new
contract. The cost to upgrade was £65,000. And they
only had three weeks till the contract started. AremisSoft
/ ViXEN Software needed to act quickly.
No
room for delays
Sales
Manager, Paul Keeley explains why the upgrade had to
happen in such a short timeframe. "This was a major
contract for Hudson so of course they wanted everything
in place, on time. Not meeting the deadline would mean
losing the deal, and that simply wasn't an option. As
well as upgrading their software package, we needed
to install it and arrange training for their personnel
- all within about 14 days. The fact we could turn to
CCL for the finance made things much easier."
A
ready-made upgrade allowance
Hudson
had acquired their original ViXEN solution using a Rental
Exchange® with CCL. In that time, they'd accrued
an allowance to spend on new technology. This meant
they could pay for the upgrade without eating into their
cashflow, or increasing their monthly payments. "CCL
pulled out all the stops," says Paul. "They
got the funding approved and paperwork signed very quickly,
and we were able to install the new solution and arrange
the necessary training well within the agreed timeframe."
A
very profitable partnership
After
working with CCL for over eight years, how does Paul
sum up the benefits of the relationship? "They
allow us to move on a deal very quickly. We also get
paid much faster. In fact, in the case of the Hudson
deal, we received full payment within 21 days of the
original enquiry from the customer."
