retail sector, Kalamazoo's new system, KDMS, holds information
on everything from customer profiles and vehicle stock
control to body shop operations, marketing data and
financial reports - allowing dealers to access customer
and vehicle data quickly, and monitor the whole sales
cycle at the touch of a button. Highly successful across
Europe, KDMS is used in over 3000 European dealerships
and by many of the UK's top dealer groups.

When
Kalamazoo launched KDMS in June 2000, they needed to
find a way for existing customers to upgrade easily
to the new system. Many customers were already on rental
agreements or had used them in the past - so Kalamazoo
started looking for a rental finance partner. After
short-listing several providers, they found CCL to offer
the most competitive rates and proactive approach. Credit
Control Manager Sue Pryce explains why rental offers
such a perfect fit with their business. Many customers
prefer the rental option and being in the automotive
industry, naturally are very comfortable with the concept.
They want to spread their IT costs over time, rather
than making such a large investment in one go. When
we started the KDMS project, our priority was to make
upgrading easy for existing customers. Thanks to CCL's
flexible approach, we've helped many of our customers
benefit from the latest dealer management system - and
made lots of additional sales in the process.

competition? They've been very proactive, and
they pay us very quickly - usually within two or three
days of sending an invoice. That's obviously a lot quicker
than a cash sale, and is also quicker than other finance
companies we've used in the past, explains Sue.

Clear

Since June 2000, CCL has
helped Kalamazoo to close around £850,000 of business.
Sue sums up the benefits of the partnership. Working
with CCL has had a very positive impact on our cash
flow - and they make things very easy for us in terms
of administration. They've also helped us to accommodate
complex installations with inventive payment structures.
And because we get paid so quickly, we've seen a significant
reduction in our debtor days.
