Problem:
Several
customers wanted us to organise finance for them.
Solution:
We
partnered with a company who specialised in financing
all types of IT, including software.
Giving
Radan a valuable edge over their competitors
Radan
specialises in providing computer-aided design, draughting
and manufacturing systems and services to the engineering
design, manufacture and sheet metal industries. A leading
software solutions developer, Radan has extensive experience
of CAD/CAM and other application areas of IT, and has
enabled many companies to achieve significant cost savings
through tailored design automation solutions. One of
their most successful products is a solid modelling
package which has one of the most user-friendly interfaces
with 2D CAD, enabling any draughtsman to produce full
and accurate 3D solid models. Set up in 1976, Radan
now operates internationally through strategic partners
and operations in the US and Europe.
Radan's
UK operation has worked in partnership with CCL for
the last three years, and offers their rental agreements
as an option to all customers buying software worth
more than £5000.
We
decided to turn to the experts
UK
Sales Director Kevin O'Connor explains why Radan joined
forces with CCL. "Quite a few customers were asking
us about finance, and we started off by organising it
ourselves. But we're not a finance company, and we decided
it would be much easier to turn to the specialists,"
says Kevin. "We were impressed that CCL would finance
software, as not many companies are willing to do that."
Making
it easier for customers to benefit from our products
So
how does working with CCL help Radan to win business?
"By offering rental as an option to customers we're
making it easier for them to take advantage of our products.
They don't have to organise the finance themselves -
and they appreciate that we sort it out for them," explains
Kevin. "Offering a pay-as-you-go finance option also
helps customers to achieve a much faster return on their
investment. Our software helps them to enjoy cost savings
in their business - and CCL's rental agreements help
to make the software easier to buy in the first place."
Flexible
finance can help to swing the deal
"There
are benefits for us too," Kevin adds. "We get paid upfront.
We can also shorten the sales cycle significantly. If
customers are spending £10,000 on software, breaking
it down into monthly payments of £125 is much easier
to justify. Also, if customers are faced with two like-for-like
software packages that they perceive to be exactly the
same - and one company offers finance, and one doesn't,
finance often helps to swing the deal."
